After launching at Sprint and Boost Mobile earlier this month, the Moto E (2nd Gen.) is about to make its way to another U.S. operator.
Cricket Wireless will begin selling the Moto E (2nd Gen.) in stores and online starting March 13. Pricing for the new Motorola smartphone will be set at $129.99 without a commitment, which is $20 less than the unlocked model being sold by Motorola.
The Moto E (2nd Gen.) that’s launching at Cricket features the same specs as the models that are currently available, meaning that it’s got a 4.5-inch 960x540 display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, 5-megapixel rear and VGA front cameras, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 1GB of RAM, and a 2390mAh battery. It comes preloaded with Android 5.0 as well as a Cricket Wi-Fi app that helps you to connect to more than 14 million Wi-Fi hotspots across the country.
Motorola’s new Moto E (2nd Gen.) is shaping up to be one of the best affordable smartphones you can buy, offering 4G LTE, a mostly-untouched version of Lollipop, and a microSD slot, all for a no-contract price that’s easy on the wallet. It’s good to see the new E hitting more operators because it exposes more people to the affordable device, like those that may not have known about it since they don’t often shop for unlocked phones that are sold by a manufacturer.
