After launching a super-sized iPhone in late 2014, the rumor mill thought that Apple might release a big iPad in early 2015. Now it looks like that may not be the case.
Production on the oft-rumored 12.9-inch iPad was rumored to get underway in Q1 2015, but sources speaking to Bloomberg now suggest that production has been pushed back. The tipsters say that Apple now plans to get production of the gigantic iPad underway “around September.” The delay in production is reportedly relates to supply issues with the panels for the big tablet.
We still haven’t seen any sort of concrete evidence that Apple will release an iPad with a 12.9-inch display, but there certainly have been lots of rumors suggesting that it will. The lack of solid leaks relating to the device may be due to these display issues, though. Now that production of the gigantic iPad is rumored to be getting underway in September, we may see some big leaks in the coming months.
