Pushbullet is a beloved app for Android and Chrome users that lets them push their phone notifications to their computer, push content between the two devices, and more. Now iOS users can see what all that phone-computer sharing fun is all about.
Pushbullet is now available to download for Mac OS X and and a Safari extension. When paired with your iPhone or iPad — yes, an iPad version is available too — you can send files, links, photos, and other content from your phone to your computer or vice versa. Universal Copy and Paste is available as well, which means that you can copy words on one device and then easily paste it on another.
The Pushbullet for Mac app also lets you view and dismiss your iOS notifications on your Mac. The feature uses Bluetooth LE to view and act on your alerts.
Pushbullet has been available on the iPhone for nearly a year, but the updated iOS app and the arrival of a dedicated Mac app greatly expands the service’s capabilities for Apple users. Now iOS folk can see exactly why Android users love Pushbullet by sharing content between their devices, dismissing iOS notifications, and more.
