Did you decide to skip over the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge? If so, your patience will soon be rewarded.

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Note Edge will launch in the U.S. on November 14. Best of all, it’ll be available on all five major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon Wireless. Pricing will be announced by each carrier.

The Galaxy Note Edge is a unique phone in that it’s got a curved screen on its side that can display notifications, app shortcuts and more without interrupting what’s on the main display. Outside of that side screen, though, the Note Edge isn’t terribly different from the Note 4:

• 5.6-inch 2560x1440 Super AMOLED display
• 160 pixels on the side Edge screen
• 2.7GHz quad-core processor
• 16-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization
• 3.7-megapixel front camera 
• 32GB of storage
• microSD card slot
• 3GB of RAM
• 3000mAh battery
• Charcoal Black and Frost White color options
• Android 4.4 KitKat

The Galaxy Note Edge is a pretty high-end phone on its own, but the side display makes it an even more enticing offer. What will be interesting is seeing how Samsung and app developers actually take advantage of that curved screen.

Will be displayed in “select” retail stores and available via direct fulfillment on Nov. 7. Full in-store availability to come at a later date.
