When the HTC Desire Eye debuted nearly a month ago, we learned that AT&T would offer the device here in the U.S. Now we know when the Desire Eye will be brining its dual 13-megapixel cameras stateside.
The HTC Desire Eye and the HTC RE camera will land at AT&T on November 7. The Desire Eye will be available in Coral Reef with a price tag of $0 down and 24 payments of $22.92 each on AT&T Next 18, 20 payments of $27.50 per month with AT&T Next 12, $149.99 with a two-year contract or $549.99 without a commitment.
HTC previously said that the RE camera will be priced at $199.99. If you’d like to save a little cash, though, AT&T will cut $50 off of that price if you buy the RE camera with an HTC Desire Eye or HTC One (M8) on a two-year contract or AT&T Next agreement. That promo will run through January 8, 2015.
The HTC Desire Eye features a pair of 13-megapixel cameras, one on its face and one on its rear. As a result, the Desire Eye’s got a lot of camera-centric features, including Split Capture, Voice Selfie, Crop-Me-In and more.
The remainder of the HTC Desire Eye’s spec list includes a 5.2-inch 1920x1080 display, 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 2400mAh battery, all wrapped up in a water resistant body.
It’s nice to see that the HTC Desire Eye will be making its way to the U.S., giving consumers that want HTC software and hardware along with a high-end camera the chance to get just that. Obviously it’s kind of a bummer that the Desire Eye will be sold exclusively on AT&T for now, but perhaps that’ll change in the future.
