Own an unlocked HTC One (M8)? If so, you’ll be pleased to hear that you’ve got a pretty nice updated coming your way tomorrow.
Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC, just revealed on Twitter that the unlocked HTC One (M8) will begin receiving its update to Android 4.4.4 tomorrow. The update will also include HTC’s Eye Experience, which will bring with it new camera features like Split Capture — which captures photos and videos using both the front and rear cameras simultaneously to create a single split-screen image — as well as Crop-Me-In, Voice Selfie, Face Fusion and Live Makeup.
HTC previously said that it wouldn’t push Android 4.4.4 to its devices because it incorporated the security fixes from 4.4.4 into its 4.4.3 updates. The company had a change of heart, though, and while it’s only a x.x.1 update, I’m sure that unlocked One (M8) owners will be happy to finally be on the very latest version of Android — that is, until Google begins rolling Android L to users, which is expected to happen this month. Don’t worry, One (M8) owners, because you’ll get L, too.
