Late last month, LG teamed up with T-Mobile and MetroPCS to launch two new Android phones, the Optimus L90 and Optimus L70. Now it’s ZTE’s turn to partner with T-Metro on some new Android hardware.
ZTE announced today that its Concord II smartphone is launching on both T-Mobile and MetroPCS. The Concord II features a 4-inch 800x480 display on its face and a 5-megapixel shooter on its backside. Buried inside its body is a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 4GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM and a 1820mAh battery.
On the software side of things, ZTE’s Concord II features a “nearly stock” version of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Looking at the images of the Concord II, it looks like ZTE has added some custom icons to Google’s OS.
The Concord II is available from T-Mobile’s website starting today for $0 down and 24 monthly payments. Meanwhile, MetroPCS plans to begin offering the Concord II in stores and online on May 19.
The ZTE Concord II looks like a respectable follow-up to 2012’s ZTE Concord, which featured a 3.2-inch 480x320 display, 2-megapixel camera, 512MB of RAM/ROM, an 832MHz processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Sure, the Concord II isn’t exactly high-end, but its 4-inch display could make it an option for folks that aren’t into the whole “bigger is better” trend that seems to be sweeping the smartphone world lately.
