When HTC announced the One (M8) last month, it said that the device would be offered in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold color options. Apparently there’s a second gold model out in the wild, though, and just like the One (M7) before it, this special One (M8) is covered in real gold.

T-Mobile CEO John Legere took a break from making Uncarrier announcements today to tweet a photo of a 24kt HTC One (M8) that he received from HTC. There haven’t been any official announcements regarding a gold-plated version of the One (M8), so it’s not clear how limited this model may be.

Only five units of the original gold-plated HTC One (M7) were made, with each one valued at £2,750 ($4602 USD). Considering all of that, it seems likely that this golden One (M8) will be just as limited as its predecessor. Here’s to hoping that HTC holds some sort of contest for one of these gold One (M8)s like it did with the One (M7) so that us normies have a chance at getting one too.
