Earlier this year, AT&T teamed up with Beats Music to offer its subscribers discounted subscriptions to the new music streaming service. Now a new report claims that we may see a similar tie-up between Sprint and Spotify.
Sources speaking to Re/code claim that Sprint will announce a partnership with Spotify on April 29 that’ll allow its customers to sign up for free Spotify trials and allow them to pay for the music service through Sprint’s billing system. It’s said that some Sprint customers may also be eligible to receive a discount on Spotify’s premium service, including those that sign up for Sprint’s Framily plan.
We’ll have to wait until this partnership is officially announced before we know all of its intricacies, but this tie-up sounds like a good deal for Sprint customers. Spotify is a major player in the music streaming arena that offers a deep catalog, including bands like Led Zeppelin. And while $10 per month isn’t a steep asking price for Spotify Premium, I’m sure most Sprint folk would be happy to receive a discount on the monthly service.
