For the second week in a row, the Samsung Galaxy Note II took first place in both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Expert's Chart in PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings. It now has a comfortable and steady lead over its toughest competitors. Will the Samsung Galaxy Note II be the #1 choice for the remainder of the year and into 2013?
MT PLEASANT, SC – Now 40-weeks-old, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) raises the bar for ranking the markets most popular devices by weighing both reader and expert votes in their respective charts. This time around, the Samsung Galaxy Note II sealed its place at the #1 position in the People's Choice Chart for the sixth consecutive week. The Samsung Galaxy Note II placed in first in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart again, too, for the second week in a row with 47 points.
In second on the People's Choice Chart was the Nokia Lumia 920, trailing the Samsung Galaxy Note II by 186 votes. Once again in third, the Samsung Galaxy S III narrowly edged out the Google Nexus 4 by just four votes. The HTC DROID DNA, in fifth, has slowly climbed the chart, yet it trails fourth by 48 votes. The Apple iPhone 5 has sealed second with 35 expert points, beating the #3 HTC DROID DNA by just five points. After its long stint in third, the Samsung Galaxy S III has finally slipped to #4 and is beginning to make its way to the bottom of the top five.
“Though it retained a spot on the Expert’s Choice Rankings chart, the Apple iPhone 5 lost mindshare to Android and Windows Phone 8 competitors on the People’s Choice Rankings," said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
