Heads up, Motorola DROID 2 Global owners. Last week we told you about a new update for the D2G that brings with it a handful of bug fixes, and now reports have begun popping up claiming that the new software has begun making its way to users. The update will bring users to software version 4.5.629.A956.Verizon.en.US and comes in at 19.4MB in size. Here's the full list of changes that you DROID 2 Global owners can expect to find once the update is installed:

Device Features

• Device is enabled with the Wireless Alerting System.
• A Google Security Patch has been added to improve security level.
• Fixed issue where the device may power ON without user interaction.
• Adjusted camera settings will be saved, even after the device is powered down.
• Resolved possible device resets while playing music.
• Reduced Out of Memory errors.

Email, Messaging & Data

• Improved ability to access and receive Gmail messages when the Mobile Hotspot is turned on.
• Addressed error that replicated thumbnails in message threads.

Applications & Widgets

• WAV files can be played from Visual Voice Mail.
• Purchased ringtones are now able to be downloaded, saved and used where appropriate.

There may be not be any ice cream sandwiches in that changelog, but this still looks like a pretty worthwhile update for a handset that's getting a tad long in the tooth. If the 4.5.629 update hasn't yet made its way to your neck of the woods, you can try to manually pull the update by heading into Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates.
