So the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY is finally official, and it's coming to Verizon. Unfortunately, there's been little news on how much it'll cost or when exactly it'll arrive beyond "Spring 2011." Today the Xperia PLAY, aka Sony R800X, was spotted in Verizon's systems and, while it doesn't mention a release date, the appearance could suggest that Big Red is gearing up to train its employees and launch the PLAY sometime soon.
Considering how often the PLAY had leaked since its debut way back in October 2010, I'm just glad to finally see it official and on the way to carriers' shelves. I'm sure there are a number of users disappointed that Verizon is the only U.S. operator set to offer the PLAY right now, but thanks to Sony Ericsson CTO Jan Uddenfeldt, we know that the deal wasn't exclusive, so other carriers will have the chance to offer the PLAY. So, if and when the PLAY goes to another U.S. carrier, who do you think will get it? Who would you like to see release it?
