The Motorola XOOM seems set to finally launch next week, but not everyone is completely thrilled about the tablet's $799 price tag, even if the XOOM will gain 4G access later on in its life. If the latest XOOM rumor (XOOM-er?) is to be believed, though, would-be buyers could end up with another option. According to the folks over at Droid-Life, Verizon may offer the XOOM for $599 with a two-year contract, $200 less than the device's unsubsidized price tag.

While $599 seems like a pretty good price for a 3G/4G Honeycomb-powered tablet, I'm not sure how many customers are going to be into the idea of committing two years of their lives to a tablet. The fact that there's a WiFi-only version of the XOOM that will eventually be made available for the same price doesn't really help things, either. What do you all think? Would you be willing to sign a two-year contract to save $200 on a Verizon-branded Motorola XOOM or would you prefer a contract-free WiFi version for the same price?
