The Motorola XOOM may not be launching until February 24th, with pre-orders kicking off the 17th, but Best Buy has gone ahead and thrown up an informational page for the device on its website today. The most interesting part? BBY has set the XOOM's price at $1,199.99, quite a bit higher than the previously leaked price of $800. The page also confirms the fact that XOOM owners must sign up for at least one month of data to use the tablet with WiFi.
Many of us were somewhat surprised at the leaks that claimed that the XOOM would be priced at $800 when it launches, so the possibility of facing a $1,200 tablet seems kind of shocking. However, it's likely that this price is simply being used as a placeholder until the actual pre-orders go live. The one month data requirement, though, seems like it's the real deal, which is kind of disappointing. Now that we're inching closer and closer to the XOOM's launch, how many of you are still thinking of pulling the trigger?
