Back in October, HTC said that they liked both Android and Windows Phone 7 equally, but how do they feel about the two now that Microsoft's OS finally launched? According to VP of HTC's Asia sector Jack Tong, the company is going to continue on with both platforms. HTC will continue to produce Android-powered devices into 2011, says Tong, but Windows Phone 7 isn't going anywhere, either. While Q1 2011 sales of WP7 will paint an accurate picture of the market's opinion on the OS, early sales of WP7 devices "look promising," Tong explained. The exec also touched on the subject of tablets, saying that HTC has been watching the tablet market closely in order to decide whether or not to launch a tablet of their own.
HTC has seen quite a bit of success with their Android phones, and the HD7 and Surround seem to be doing pretty well for themselves, too. Like HTC, we'll have to wait to see how well Windows Phone 7 sells before guessing whether or not the company will keep making phones with Microsoft's OS, but I'd be pretty surprised if they stopped altogether. As for tablets, we've heard that HTC will be launching a Honeycomb-powered product some time early next year. Considering how popular tablets are becoming lately, I doubt that HTC would ignore the opportunity to launch one of their very own.
