December has officially arrived and we're still here waiting for a Gingerbread surprise from Google to go along with our cup of egg nog. Luckily, a YouTube video demoing Voice Search, posted by the Goog itself, gives us a small preview of Android 2.3 to tide us over for the time being. There's not much in the video that we haven't already seen, and it certainly doesn't help that the entire thing is in Cantonese, but it is a nice, clear look at Gingerbread and its new black status bar and green icons. Check out the full video below, and do it quick in case the clip gets pulled.
In the past, I haven't really been into the new look of Android that Google is introducing with Gingerbread but, after watching this video, I have to admit that it's growing on me. I like the new darker notification bar and it's nice to see a bit more unified look with the green icons. It's still not clear whether or not Android 2.3 will debut on December 6th or shortly thereafter, but after watching this short clip, the OS certainly can't come fast enough.
