It's been about a week since we heard anything about a Verizon iPhone, so it's about time that we check out another rumor or two, right? Right. First up, we present to you the image above, which was sent to the folks over at Covering Web. As you can see, whatever it is in the photo looks like a white iPhone 4, but there are three distinguishing changes that lead some to believe that it is indeed the mythical iBigRedPhone: the missing SIM card slot, the redesigned antenna band, and the "Verizon" name in the top left of the screen.
Next up in our Verizon iPhone rumor extravaganza, we have a tweet from the @VerizonCareers Twitter account. After pointing users to an ad for the iPad's arrival on the Verizon network, a user asked if that was a hint that the iPhone would be coming soon, too. Normally, you'd expect a "We don't comment on rumors," response, but not this time. @VerizonCareers answered the user by saying "yes that is the latest scoop."
As with most Verizon iPhone rumors, there's not a lot here that's black and white, because some things could go either way. For example, some parts of the photo, like the "Verizon" name in the carrier area of the screen, can be easily faked. What's a little more difficult to fake is the missing SIM slot and redesigned band, but there's another simple explanation for these changes: the device is a knockoff/Photoshop. As for the @VerizonCareers tweet, it's tough to tell if the person running the account was actually saying that the iPhone is coming to Verizon or if they were just saying "Yeah, that's what people are saying." The majority of rumors are saying that the Verizon iPhone will arrive in early 2011, so if they're true, we're only a few months out. I just wonder what's going to happen when the Verizon iPhone rumors come to an end once and for all.
