When the T-Mobile G2's specs originally came out, there were many that came away disappointed with the fact that the handset was rocking an 800 MHz chip. You can officially put your fears to rest, friends, as the G2 has been benchmarked on video and handily bested many other Android phones, including the Nexus One running Android 2.2. The G2 scored a 1499 on the Quadrant benchmarking app, and it has been noted that the G2's processor is capable of being overclocked to 1 GHz once the handset is rooted. To see the benchmarking in action, check out the full video down below.
As this test goes to show, MHz isn't everything when measuring how well a processor will actually run. Now that we know just how speedy the G2 will be when it's finally launched, I'm even more excited for the handset than I was before (which I didn't think was possible). $200 for one of the fastest Android handsets around that will also be running on T-Mobile's speedy HSPA+ network?
