We've seen handset leaks featuring Windows Phone 7 time and time again, but now it's been all but confirmed that we'll finally see the OS and its devices made publicly available in just a few short weeks. It's been rumored for some time now that Windows Phone 7 would be launching in Europe on October 11th, and now Microsoft has sent out invites to a press conference on that very date slated to begin at 2 PM (9 AM EST for those of us stateside). The event is going to run for three and a half hours, making it even more likely that the event is WP7-focused. That November U.S. debut for WP7 is looking more and more likely as the days go by, isn't it?
Sure, even if Windows Phone 7 is officially launched on October 11th, we won't be getting our hands on them until November. What matters is that WP7 and the phones that run it will finally be out and we won't have to rely on various leaks just to get a good look at the OS. Stay tuned, folks, because the mobile OS market is about to get quite a bit more interesting!
