Lately when Sony Ericsson's name has been in the news, it's mostly been related to their XPERIA line of Android handsets and when OS updates will be arriving for them. Things are about to get much more exciting according to Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg, though, as he has just teased in an interview that his company has a "big surprise coming in the next few months." Nordberg wouldn't elaborate any further, but considering that the company recently said that it will be focusing on Android and Windows Phone 7, it's safe to assume that whatever they've got up their sleeve will be running one of those two OSes. You can check out the whole clip for yourself down below.
While no one knows for sure what Sony Ericsson is planning, most believe that the company's CEO is referring to that rumored Android PSP phone that we heard about last month, which I have to agree with. Sure, the company may be planning a Windows Phone 7 handset, but I'm not sure that that would be much of a surprise. Even a plain Android phone wouldn't really be big news. A gaming-centric Android device, though? That has the potential to be huge, especially if the handset is running Android 2.5/3.0. Then again, Sony Ericsson's CEO was the one that said that the company had a "big surprise" planned, and since it is his company, he could think that almost anything would be big. The Sony Ericsson Android PSP phone is rumored to be coming as early as October, but the actual release may have been pushed back. Either way, we've only got a few months to wait, so stay tuned! What do you think Sony Ericsson's big surprise is?
