Palm Pre owners on Sprint have been enjoying webOS 1.4.5 and all of the enhancements it brings for almost a month now. Unfortunately, Verizon and AT&T Palm Pre Plus users haven't been so lucky. According to PreCentral, though, things are going to turn around for Verizon Pre Plus owners, as the webOS 1.4.5 update should be coming in about two weeks. Sure, we hear claims like this all of the time, but this time the evidence comes from Verizon's own support page has screenshots of a Pre Plus with the 1.4.5 update. A PDF was also found on the support page that lists the improvements found in 1.4.5:
webOS 1.4.5 Build 171 update includes numerous enhancements. [...]
+ Better Mobile Hotspot connectivity
- Your Palm Pre Plus can easily connect through the Mobile Hotspot application even when using Windows Vista® 64-bit with Windows LiveTM OneCare.
+ Better Web functionality
- Preview all ringtones on the Verizon Mobile Web 3.0 site.
+ Overall improved battery performance
Verizon's Palm Pre Plus has an end-of-life date set at October 21st, so it'll be nice for the handset to get another big upgrade before it leaves Verizon's stores. There's no word on when AT&T Pre Plus owners can expect their 1.4.5 update, but hopefully it'll be soon so that AT&T customers won't have to be jealous for too long. Sure, the 1.4.5 update is no webOS 2.0, but it's better than nothing, right?
