Near field communication, or NFC, payment isn't a terribly new concept, even in the mobile industry.  Nokia is looking to take NFC payments one step further with their introduction of Swipe.  The idea behind Swipe is that you'll use your mobile phone to make a payment with NFC and then rather than getting a regular paper receipt, you'll get a digital receipt uploaded to your handset.  On top of that, the system will make note of the product's return period on your calendar and give you a heads up when the period is about to end.  No word on when Swipe will be implemented, but I'm sure we'll be hearing more at Nokia World, which our own Aaron Baker will be attending.  Be sure to check back for his coverage beginning tomorrow, and in the mean time you can check out a video of Swipe down below.

I don't know about you, but the idea of using my phone to pay for things sounds pretty awesome, especially when you can even get a digital receipt uploaded to your device.  Since not all high-end phone lovers are into the eco-friendly feature phones available, this could be a good way for those of use concerned about the environment to be a little more green.  How many of you would leave your wallet at home and make payments with an NFC-enabled phone?
