Topping Amazon’s $100 offer for the Pre, Walmart.com is selling the device for $79.99 through tomorrow.
Oh, but there’s a catch: This isn’t the checkout price, but the final cost after a $100 mail-in rebate (courtesy of Let’s Talk, which handles wireless sales for the chain). So customers have to pay $180 smackers upfront. In contrast, Amazon customers only put up a c-note at checkout.
Is it worth fussing with forms and such to save $20? Well, only you and your wallet knows. But either way, whether you go with Amazon or Walmart, the price is still way less than the $150 that Sprint is charging. Note: Like with Amazon and Sprint, there’s a 2-year service agreement required for the Walmart deal. Again, it’s only good through tomorrow, so if you want it, act fast.
No word on whether this is an online-only price or if it’s available in brick-and-mortar shops. (If you end up nabbing this deal at a store near you, report back and let us know.)
P.S. Thanks for the tip, *Q_804*!
UPDATE: According to PreCentral, it looks like Walmart has sweetened the pot. Go with its $80 deal and get a free accessory kit, including a car charger, screen protector, clear case, and a bluetooth headset. The bundle is valued at $34.99 — not exactly a high-end kit — but even so, you can’t beat the bargain-basement price of FREE. So penny pinchers now have a choice: Is this $35 car kit, plus a $20 savings, worth going through the rebate process? Or will you hit up Amazon’s straightforward, no-hassle $100 offer?
