Joe blogged about it yesterday, and now it's true: Samsung today announced availability of their new high-end cameraphone for Verizon Wireless - the SCHu-900 FlipShot. FlipShot is a clamshell handset with a rotating screen, similar to the A990 which until now was VZW's top of the line cameraphone. FlipShot features a 3.0 MP camera with flash, automatic lens capture, video capture functionality and PictBridge and Bluetooth functionality for direct printing to compatible printers. An optional TV Out cable will allow you to connect the handset directly to a video monitor for photo and video viewing.
FlipShot is also compatible with VZW's high speed EV-DO network and VCast offerings and features stereo Bluetooth and VZ Navigator support. A microSD card slot will officially accept cards up to 4GB in size for storing all of those photos and videos, along with WMA and MP3 files to playback on the handset's audio player. Looks like there's an external display with touch sensitive controls, as well, and the overall size and weight of FlipShot have been trimmed just a bit as compared to the A990.
FlipShot is available today in black direct from VerizonWireless.com, and will also be available in red through Best Buy stores beginning November 26. The release price is set at $199 with a two year contract.
