Remember that Blackjack II that Samsung unveiled at CTIA in San Francisco a month or so ago? You'll be able to pick it up at AT&T stores on Friday in the midst of your "I'm willing to camp outside of a Wal-Mart to save $100 on a TV" Black Friday experience.
Or you could just stay home, make a turkey sandwich, and order it online. Your call. According to Samsung, the black version will be available in AT&T stores, national retailers, and at att.com Friday, with the wine red version of the slim smartphone to follow on 12/6. Retail price on the Blackjack II will be $199.99 with a two-year contract.
The new Blackjack is slimmer and has longer battery life than the original, and also features Windows Mobile 6 and 3G data speeds over AT&T's HSDPA network. Samsung also revamped the QWERTY board and swapped the thumb scrollwheel for a front-mounted jog dial similar to the one found on their Juke musicphone (Verizon Wireless). Seeing as all the Blackjack I owners I know liked their handsets apart from battery life issues - and the occasional Windows Mobile complaints - Blackjack II should certainly be on your short list if you're looking for a new WM6 device.
The Blackjack II is on AT&T's website and Samsung's product page.
