The good: Plenty of U.S. Cellular stores in my area [Madison,WI] with good customer service both in-store and on the phone. Coverage is very good in the midwest. I think the phone plans available are fair. When I went to the west coast, coverage was also awesome.
The bad: US Cellular does not have access to the iphone or google phones [well-I don't think they do] - Blackberry is their smartphone. I don't really care as I use a more basic model.
Summary: I've had a lot of interactions with US Cellular over the years and they have been pleasant. Good coverage, good reception. No dropped calls. Good phones whether you go cheap or expensive.
I think if you're not sure which carrier to go with, ask people who live in your area. The most important to ongoing satisfaction: "do you get reception? and do the calls drop?" Having more minutes and a cooler phone won't count if you can't get calls to work.
The good: Coverage (in my area), Cost, Phones and Plans, Costumer Service
The bad: I have none at this time
Summary: T-Mobile maybe the smallest of the 4 major cell phone carriers but it not lacking a bit. My plan an *unlimited* Data, Text, Calling at a cost of $99. I have been with Verizon, whos coverage was great but you will pay for that, Sprint which has good pricing but the coverage is very spotty (in my area) and AT&T before and after the merger but only really having the iPhone, at a steep cost (Data $30, Texting $20 didnt even ask for unlimited calling) wasnt an option especially with the bad coverage problems in my area. I'm a SmartPhone guy and I like having all the extras. I really like GSM service and with it comes some pluses, and T-Mobile seems to be on the ball with getting the Hot Euro Phones, Android and Windows alike. I had an issue with Sprint before switching to T-Mobile and they were more than glad to help me out, they even offered to let me out of a contract to straighten out the problem, now who lets you do that or even tells you can? I must say their costumer service is tops, Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint should take lessons. Phones I have (G1 and HTC Touch Pro 2) on their service don't amount to as many as I have had with others but I have been pleased with them and so far the flawless coverage provided by T-Mobile. Phone Dog needs to change some of their info on the company in the Pros and Cons section because as of the last quarter of 2009 T-Mobile has changed their plans and open their Data Plans up to compete and believe me after you check them out you will understand. $99 for UNLIMITED EVERYTHING and a Touch Pro 2 that only Verizon had at a lower price. Yeah Sprint had it at $350 also but after a 100 mail-in rebate and I'm still waiting for my Hero's rebate to come back that I purchased in October, 16 weeks, mine as well had said 4 to 5 months, and I wish they would have stated the time factor when I bought it. Well enough Sprint bashing, this is about T-Mobile. I really think they got a bad rap in the beginning and maybe in helped them see the light and they are and have turned things around. Improved Pricing, Coverage, Costumer Service, and yes they have more than the Side-Kick now, lol, so they are well on their way up and unless the 3 in front start to straighten out their act T-Mobile will catch them all.
The good: Rollover, coverage, web speed, reliability, phones
The bad: Family plans could be alittle more flexible.
Summary: I guess im one of those customers that the 700 minute plan might not be quite enough and the 1400 minute plan would be too much. However, i got like 4000 rollover minutes that will never expire so i will never have to pay for overusage charges. The web browsing is no joke, its extremely fast, faster than what i thought it would be. I very rarely experience any problems with my phone and service (going on 7 years now). Now granted i may drop a call once in awhile but hardly ever. I never have any problems sending or receiving any messages or voicemail and definately have no problems with coverege. Yes their are definatly deadzones but that is with any provider. I can tell you this, im a DirecTV Technician and travel to many places 6 days a week. I have a company provided verizon phone, and no lie, i cant count how many places i go that my company phone has no service. My personal phone with att works 90 percent of the time where my company phone with verizon does not. ATT definatly has more bars in more places than Verizon and i would never switch to them. Im not being negative towards them but since i deal with both a verizon phone and my att phone, i see how the coverage between the two companies compare on a daily basis.
The good: great battery life, decent signal, decent web browser, alarm clock is great.
The bad: moisture touch screen, hangs up if U touch ur face accidently, alot of strokes to send a text, wont read photos off a mem card
Summary: most sensative screen is the biggest issue, hands have to be dry, no gloves or else the screen goes crazy. Still can't get photos to read on the phone, can't find out how either. Noone seems to know. Too many Q&A when u want to send a text. Keep the phone away from ur face when u talk, u'll end up ending call or muting.
The good: great phones - hardly ever any problems not the newest phones but no problems they test the phones very well before launching them. great reception. fast internet on my BB. cheap plans get lots for my $$ friendly agent locations to help. battery swap. overage protection!
The bad: Store hours not long enough. EE charges even with a block on. have to pay activation fee when adding new line to existing family account. wish they had a smaller text package than the 4.95 250 text for those of us who only text less than 100 per month.
Summary: This company is great! I have the National 1000 plan and get national incoming calls any where in us along with national nights and weekends starting @7pm and where in us along with local m2m and only pay $79.99 for 3 phones on this plan. this gives me the freedom to use my phone while on travel and vacation! i also have a blackberry plan on my account. these prices have become cheaper since first coming out which is awesome! i have only had maybe one dropped call since i got there service maybe 2 tops. My internet is fast and i use it all the time while out of town or even shopping to look things up! battery swap is great i can swap my battery if mine is running slow at any us cell store! If i ever have any billing questions i call or stop into store and sales reps are always very friendly and nice helping me resolve any problems that i have. i have never had to have any of our phones sent out for warranty and they always last us at least till our contract is up sometimes even longer!
The good: Versatile, Simple
The bad: Clunky Touchscreen
Summary: I think that the Versa is a decent phone. It is my 3rd phone, and first that isn't a Nextel, so I was pleasantly surprised. I switched to Verizon right when this phone came out, and on my Nextel phone I still wasn't even able to text. So when I got the phone it was a nice surprise. At first.

It has many features that are good and I love them, but some things about the Versa annoy me. I find that without the case attached, the phone is too vulnerable in the pocket. It frequently unlocks and powers down on its own. I do not have a screen protector, and my screen is somewhat scratched up for something that just sits in my pocket.

Also, after about 3 months after every text, sent or received, my phone would power down. This proved to be very bothersome for the phone was billed to me as superior to other texting phones, which brings me to my next point. The phone was presented to me as a rival to smartphones, basically a step down. This is not the case at all. While it is a step up from phones like the Alias and EnV, it is nowhere close to a stepdown from a smartphone.

My last issue is that at times, the screen can be unresponsive, laggy, and very inaccurate. It is very difficult to navigate webpages with your fingers on this phone.

But besides all this, the Versa is an adequate phone for someone looking for something different.
The good: The service reps are always on the phone (as a live person) within seconds of calling 611, they are all understandable (no, I don't know what some of you are talking about--TMobile CS isn't outsourced--most of their call centers are in the midwest), they have BY FAR the lowest cost of plans across the board, if they can't fix something immediately, they'll credit your bill or add minutes to your account...the list goes on and on. I have now been with them for 10 years and have no plans of leavi
The bad: If you want an iPhone (to some people, that's important), they don't have it. Go to AT&T for that.
Summary: T-Mobile has BY FAR the most fantastic customer service of any service that I pay for or have paid for in the past. All of the service reps either (a) know exactly what they're talking about, or (b) are more than happy to find out the answer to your question for you.
The good: great keyboard. tough. good coverage.
The bad: lags a tad.
Summary: this is the toughest yet most stylish slide out phone on the market. i've dropped mine countless times, causing it to turn off, but when it turns back on it works like a charm.
The good: good service,nice looking,radio
The bad: buttons hard to operate, have to hold phone just right to hear.
Summary: It's a nice looking phone, feels very light. I wish there would have been a little more thought in the design...You really want to like the phone just to many things wrong. Seems to have adequate signal and sound on the other end. Oh and the FM radio sounds great, and the camera is good. I got this on Black Friday so it was very inexpensive I wouldn't pay the normal price. I decided to keep it though.
The good: Camera 3G The Full Keyboard While Texting The Touch Screen (When It Works) And The Call Quality
The bad: Touch Screen, The Battery Life, And Pretty Much Everything Else.
Summary: The Worst Phone I Have Owned. The Phone Freeze Up All The Time It Cuts Off By Itself Even With A Fully Charge Battery The Web Browser Sucks Badly The Camera Is Pretty Good And 3G Is Pretty Fast At Certain Times And The Screen Has Great Resolution And Also The Call Quality Is Pretty Good. The Battery Life Is Horrible The Longest It Last For Me Is One Day. Never Again Will I Buy Another Samsung Phone In My Life.
The good: It works 100% better than at&t
The bad: No Android Yet
Summary: We CUT our costs to more than half of what we used to pay at&t. I have the Samsung keyboard version from Walmart. I was very hesitant but the reviews seemed ok as long as you do not need customer service.

We are simply amazed that we have CUT our costs so much. For $45 a month I have unlimited calls, texts, web access and a relative great phone.

I am VERY anxious to get ANDROID and I am hoping that StraightTalk (owned by tracfone) will have an offering soon.

The customer service was a bit of a nightmare but saving so much money monthly wipes away that rare necessary cs contact.
The good: Good keyboard, Good camera, turns on and off quickly,Charges quickly
The bad: Gets very slippery/greasy even though I have a case for it, limited mulitmedia options,Runs out of battery quickly
Summary: I like this phone because it has a good keyboard, and I am a teenager, so I text A LOT. The only few things I don't like about the phone were already listed in the Cons.
The good: Great AMOLED touchscreen, touchwiz interface, 3 megapixel camera works great, solid sliding mecganism, moveable banners and clocks, accelerometer, awesome web browser.
The bad: layout of QWERTY keyboard is frustrating at first, backplate is hard to get off.
Summary: I have had the samsung rogue since Christmas, so about 11 days and it is fantastic. The keyboard was kind of hard to type on at first because of the curser keys and the number row being at the top putting the space bar in the middle of the bottom letter row but I got used to it. I had the voyager before this and another voyager before the voyager i had before this. I hate the voyager. The tilting screen mechanism broke and eventually the right hinge broke off. So I went to get a new voyager after my first one broke and after 4 or 5 months with it the same thing happened. So for Christmas i asked for this one because of the whole sliding mechanism because I don't have good luck with the clamshell design. Anyway right after I got this phone I immediately fell in love with it, well in love to the extent to where a guy can love his phone without being called weird. It was the best messaging phone that I had ever used...which the only ones that I have used are my previous voyagers, my friend's rant, my other friend's vu, and my girlfriend's juke. Well anyway this phone is great. The touchscreen is super-responsive, I never have to calibrate it *shakes fist wildly in the air* but the voyager's touchscreen had to be calibrated constantly. The camera is great, I can take pictures in the dark with the flash *shakes fist wildly again* but the voyager's camera couldn't take nighttime pictures. It's very small to where I could actually put it in my pocket without mistaking it for a ten pound weight *shakes fist again* the voyager was humungous!!!!! So my overall perspective is if you are looking for a messaging phone on verizon you should really take a look at this one. But if you get a voyager you'll wanna kill yourself!
The good: very stylish, easy to use & we get compliments all the time...touch screen and keyboard makes life so easy...GPS is wayyyy better then our TOM TOM (we don't get lost on dead end roads anymore)
The bad: battery...but the more it does, the more power it uses...which is understandable
Summary: my husband and i both have the same phone in the bronze color...we have had smart phones and this is the best ever!!! camera takes great pics for a phone and texting is sooo easy.
The good: great design, feels great in hand, great speakers and in-call quality, sense UI
The bad: android 1.5, battery life
Summary: its a great phone if you know how to use it. needs an update to 2.0/2.1 and its just about perfect from my point of view.
The good: Great Coverage in my area, extremely pleasant Representatives, good corp Discount threw my Job
The bad: Some representatives either not properly trained or just don't want to work, HTC Dash Phones (avoid)
Summary: I have been with TMobile for a year or so. Came from Sprint. I have not really had issues with them except for the Dash Line of phones. I had the original Dash (crap) and now I have the 3G Dash (still crap) just not as bad. Getting a different phone soon though.

Overall pretty good service, I don't have issues with dropped calls, or text not going through.

I will agree, it is aggravating some times to get someone that is not American or in America for that matter, but if you have the patience some of the reps can be quite good.

The good: Easy texting, relatively fast internet, easy navigation throughout phone
The bad: Screen locks up, shuts down on its own occasionally
Summary: I'm not entirely sure if it's just my phone, but the touch screen won't respond to my touches, making the phone useless beyond calling those you've recently dialed or been called by (by hitting hard talk button twice). No texting, no apps, nothing. I'll most likely get a replacement, but not without looking around first.
The good: great service, unlimited talking !!!!!
The bad: the web could be better
Summary: I have been with alot of cell providors. I was with nextel for 3 years then tryed boost. People boost is nextel prepaid. same towers same service. you can use nextal phones just put in your boost sim if you don't like the boost phones. I use only nextel phones. great coverage I can talk all day no problem and my friends cry because they went over there minutes. If nextel service is bad in your area boost will be to. same towers. I've had it for over a year no problem. don't know how customer service is never had to use them !!!
The good: Way better than the Rumor (UX260)
Alarm ringer feature.
USB/headset slots open much easier
extra row of keys on Qwerty pad
chat feature for texting
Sleeker design
Excellent screen for it's small size: wonderful resolution.

The bad: If you put texting mode on T9word (predictive text) on the front of the phone, it stays on when you slide it to the Qwerty. I don't see why anyone needs predictive text on the qwerty.
Summary: I was very hesitant to get this one since I had so many issues with the Scoop (UX260) but the sales person assured me all the kinks were worked out. She said they actually had a few issues with this model when it first came out so they took if off the market in their stores until it was fixed (for 3 mos) and there have been no more complaints. I think it's a huge improvement from the previous model and so far don't have any regrets. They have improved on all the features I had complaints about with my Scoop and it seems much more user friendly now. I like having 4 rows on the texting keypad too. I haven't had this phone long so I hope it continues to text well after a few months. The sales person said if it messes up I have a one year manufacturers warranty. That means I'll get a replacement of the same model.
As I said, overall I'm pretty pleased so far.
The good: Windows mobile 6.5, large screen, incredible display, good battery life.....
The bad: Wish the screen was the size of the HTC HD2(4.3) or atleast HTC HD1(3.8)
Summary: Window mobile 6.5 is much improved. There's an update coming very soon.(WM 6.5.3) Does everything I need done; fast, accurate, and on point. Really good for business use. Running 3 programs at once and no problem as of yet. Don't no what the heck kind of problems people are having with there Imagio, but mine works just fine. Again, buy a 16g micro sd card, and download clean ram, and your rocking.
