The LG Velvet is the start of a new product roadmap for LG, featuring a hardware design that's different from the company's other recent flagships. The software on the Velvet has some new features, too, and this week LG said that it's bringing them to select other models in its lineup.
LG will push an update to some of its former V and G series flagships that includes the UI of the LG Velvet. Those include the ability to change the color of your notification bar, new volume adjustment settings, and a new pop-up window during calls.
These are the models that LG says will be updated with features from the Velvet:
LG V50 ThinQ, LG G8 ThinQ, LG V50S ThinQ, LG V40 ThinQ, LG V35 ThinQ, and LG G7 ThinQ
Right now the update has only been announced in Korea, but it's certainly possible that LG will push the update to its customers in other parts of the globe. Getting new features like these can help give your existing phone a refresh, especially for phones like the LG V35 and G7 that originally launched back in 2018.
