Google will reportedly not offer free unlimited Photos backup with its future Pixel phones. That's according to Android Central, who claim that future Pixel models "will not be exempt" from the policy change that's eliminating free unlimited Google Photos backup for everyone in 2021.
One of the highlight features of all Pixel phones is their camera performance. Google's Pixels are regularly praised as having some of the best camera performance of any smartphone, and offering free unlimited Google Photos backup encourages owners to use that camera as much as they want because all of their photos will be backed up in the cloud for free.
While Google hasn't commented on this rumor yet, it's possible that it will drop the free unlimited Photos storage perk from future Pixel phones as part of its upcoming Google Photos policy change. That said, it would also be a pretty disappointing move, as the free unlimited photo backup was a nice perk to have previously that would become even more attractive once Google Photos stops offering that feature to everyone.
