After first getting into the live TV market more than a year ago, T-Mobile is now relaunching its TVision streaming service with more options and more aggressive pricing.
TVision offers three different services to help you get just the channels you want and not the ones you don't. Here's a breakdown of what each one includes:
TVision Live
TVision Vibe
TVision Channels
You can check the full TVision channel lineup for your area right here.
No matter which TVision service you choose, you'll be able to watch on your Android or iOS smartphone and tablet. T-Mobile is also going to offer TVision on set-top boxes like Apple TV, Android TV, Google TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
If you don't already have a set-top box plugged into your TV, T-Mobile will sell you the TVision Hub for $50. This dongle plugs into an HDMI port on your TV and runs the Android TV platform, meaning you'll get access to streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max in addition to TVision. You'll also get a remote with dedicated buttons for Netflix, YouTube, and TVision as well as a Google Assistant button.
TVision will launch on November 1 for postpaid T-Mobile customers. Those who sign up for TVision Live TV+ or TVision Live Zone before December 31 will get a free year of Apple TV+ and the chance to buy a 32GB Apple TV 4K set-top box for $99, a savings of $80 after rebate.
Legacy Sprint customers will be able to sign up for TVision later in November, while prepaid T-Mobile customers and non-T-Mo subscribers will have the chance to get TVision in 2021.
There's no shortage of live TV streaming options out there, but with TVision, T-Mobile is trying to offer subscribers more options at a lower starting price. During its presentation, T-Mo noted that several other TV streaming services have been raising their prices lately, and so it'll be interesting to see if T-Mo can maintain its aggressive pricing or if it'll eventually have to raise TVision prices just like its competitors have.
