After Apple announced that the iPhone 12 would not include earphones or a wall charger, Samsung wasted no time in mocking Apple for the decision. However, a new report says that Samsung might do the same thing with its next flagship.
Samsung is reportedly considering excluding the earphones and wall charger from its Galaxy S21 next year. A report from Chosun Biz in Korea (via SamMobile) says that even if Samsung does ultimately decide to bundle a charger with the Galaxy S21, it's likely that earphones will not be included.
This isn't the first time that we've heard rumblings about Samsung not including a charger with its new phones in 2021. And now that Apple has removed the earphones and wall charger from the iPhone 12, Samsung may be thinking that it can do the same and face less backlash. The move could lower the Galaxy S21's cost to Samsung while giving a boost to sales of its own accessories, making the decision even more tempting for Samsung.
Also of note is that following the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, we learned that Samsung is not including earphones with the Note 20 phones in North America and is instead giving a free pair to owners who ask for one. This could make it easy for Samsung to not include earphones with the Galaxy S21, too.
