After adding AirPlay support a couple of weeks ago, Quibi is now giving you another way to beam its shows from your phone to your TV.
The Quibi app for iOS has been updated with Chromecast support. Now folks who have a Chromecast plugged into their TV can send shows from their iOS device to the Chromecast and enjoy Quibi shows on their big screen.
Chromecast support doesn't appear to have rolled out to Quibi's Android app quite yet. In response to reviews of its Android app, Quibi has said that it's "actively working on Chromecast functionality and expect to release it in June", so we could see Android users get Chromecast support in the Quibi app later this month.
When Quibi launched in early April, you could only watch streaming videos on your phone. The whole point of the service is to offer "quick bites" of video that you can easily watch on your phone during your commute or while you're out and about.
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic means a lot of people aren't commuting or really going anywhere, and lots of folks have wanted the ability to watch Quibi on their TV while they're self-isolating at home. Quibi is now responding to those requests by rolling out support for features like AirPlay and Chromecast.
