More details on the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 displays have leaked out today, and there's both some good news and some bad news.

First up is the good news. The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to have bigger inner and outer displays than the original Fold. The main inner display will be a 7.7-inch screen, reports ETNews, and it'll have a 120Hz refresh rate, a feature the original Fold lacked. The outer display of the Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be a 6.23-inch screen.

To compare, the original Galaxy Fold's main inner display measures 7.3 inches while the outer display is 4.6 inches.

Samsung offers 120Hz displays across the Galaxy S20 series, and so it's good to hear that the feature is expected to spread to the next Galaxy Fold, too. A 120Hz refresh rate makes animations and scrolling appear more smooth compared to a traditional 60Hz refresh rate, and it should make the Fold 2's 7.7-inch inner display even nicer to use.

Now for the not-so-great news. A previous rumor claimed that Samsung would include S Pen stylus support with the Galaxy Fold 2, which could be useful with its big 7.7-inch screen. A new report from The Elec says that that won't be the case, though, because of the Ultra Thin Glass that Samsung plans to use to cover the Fold 2's inner folding screen.

It's said that Samsung tried to figure out a way to use glass that was thick enough for the S Pen but thin enough to be folded in the Galaxy Fold 2, including thicker cover glass that was thinner at the folding point as well as polyimide films. However, none of these solutions worked well enough, and Samsung ultimately decided to push the launch of a foldable phone with stylus support to next year.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to make its official debut at an event on August 5 alongside the Galaxy Note 20.
