If you've been on Facebook or most any other social network for a long period of time, you may have some older posts that you wouldn't mind scrubbing from your timeline for one reason or another. A new Facebook tool aims to help with that.
Manage Activity is a new tool from Facebook that makes it easier to archive or delete your old posts. You can scroll through your timeline and check a box next to each post you want to do something about, then bulk delete or archive them at once.
There are also filters to help you find posts made during a specific date range or posts with certain people.
If you choose to archive a post, it'll still be available for you to view but no one else will be able to see it. Posts marked as trash will be deleted in 30 days, which is meant to give you time to restore them if you change your mind. You can also manually delete them for good right then if you'd like.
There are lots of reasons someone might have for wanting to get rid of some of their older posts. They might be looking for a new job, or maybe they don't want to be reminded of an old relationship, or perhaps they've simply changed as a person and don't want those older posts around. Now this Manage Activity tool can help you do that.
Manage Activity will be available first on Facebook's mobile apps and will roll out to the desktop version of Facebook and to Facebook Lite later.
