The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series has included some of the most beloved video games in history, and soon the first two titles will be remastered for modern consoles.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 will launch on September 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and on PC through the Epic Games Store. Pricing will be set at $39.99, and there will be a digital deluxe version available for $49.99 that'll include "unique content and in-game gear".
If you're a huge THPS fan, you'll also be able to snag a collector's edition of the game for $99.99 that'll include the digital deluxe content plus a limited edition Birdhouse skateboard deck.
So what about the game itself? The package will include remastered versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2, complete with all of the original levels from the first two games and the full original roster of pro skaters plus their special moves. More goals are being added to the original levels to give you more challenges.
Create-A-Skater and Create-A-Park modes are in there, too, and the Create-A-Park mode will include a "robust editor" to give you more customization options.
As any THPS fan will tell you, the soundtrack to those games is just as important as the gameplay. While the full soundtrack hasn't been confirmed yet, we're told that "many" of the songs from the original games will be included in the remastered Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2. Fingers crossed that that includes "Superman".
The remaster is being handled by Vicarious Visions, the developer who has made portable versions of previous games in the Tony Hawk franchise as well as the recent Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy remasters.
