There have been a lot of rumors regarding the Galaxy Fold 2 lately, including details on its display sizes and pricing. That may not be the only Galaxy Fold model that Samsung has in the works, though.

Samsung is rumored to be working on a Galaxy Fold Lite foldable device. According to Max Weinbach, this will be a more affordable foldable that could cost $1,099 and be made with a mix of parts from 2018, 2019, and 2020. To compare, the original Galaxy Fold costs $1,980.

To help get the price down, this Galaxy Fold Lite (codenamed "Winner2") could skip the Ultra Thin Glass for its main display like Samsung used on Galaxy Z Flip. The device could also have a smaller outer display that's said to be similar to the Z Flip, which features a 1.1-inch outer screen for showing you notifications. The Galaxy Fold Lite may also skip 5G support.

The good news for folks interested in a more affordable foldable is that Samsung may not be skimping on every detail of the Galaxy Fold Lite to lower its price. The device could include a Snapdragon 865 processor and 256GB of built-in storage. The outside of the body is tipped to feature both aluminum and glass.

Finally, Weinbach suggests that this Galaxy Fold Lite could be offered in Mirror Black and Mirror Purple colors (like the Galaxy Z Flip) and that it may be sold internationally. 

Rumors have said that the proper Galaxy Fold 2 could cost around $1,900, so this Galaxy Fold Lite would be a much more affordable option. At $1,099, it still wouldn't exactly be cheap, but it could help a lot of people who have been interested in foldable phones finally take the plunge and get into Samsung's Galaxy foldable ecosystem.
