In addition to pledging to waive late fees and not terminate service for customers who are unable to pay their bills, T-Mobile and Verizon are taking an extra step to fight the spread of the coronavirus.
Both carriers have announced that they're temporarily closing stores in response to the coronavirus, AKA COVID-19. T-Mobile is closing all of its stores located in indoor malls, including T-Mo, Metro by T-Mobile, and dealer stores. These stores will remain closed until further notice.
T-Mobile adds that it will be maintaining compensation for its teams and supporting its independent operators through the end of the month.
Meanwhile, Verizon has announced that it's temporarily closing "a number of its stores across the country". There's no word on how long these stores will remain closed.
Both T-Mobile and Verizon are also reminding customers that they can get support and make purchases online so that they don't have to leave home. T-Mobile customers can dial 611 from their T-Mo phone, access My T-Mobile from the web, or get the T-Mobile app for Android or iOS.
Verizon subscribers can get support through their carrier's website, by calling 1-800-922-0204, or by using the My Verizon app on Android or iOS.
