Another day, another new Verizon 5G city.
Verizon today announced Hoboken, NJ as its 21st 5G city. A coverage map for Hoboken will go live on December 20th, but for now, here are the parts of the city where Verizon customers can expect to find a 5G signal:
Concentrated on Willow Ave. between 1st and 16th Streets, 5th Street between Marshall Drive and Garden St., and Adams St. between 2nd and 7th Streets. Also available around landmarks like Hoboken University Medical Center, Church Square Park, Hoboken Public Library, and Mama Johnson Field.
There are four different smartphones on Verizon that can access the carrier's 5G coverage. Those include the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, LG V50 ThinQ 5G, and the Moto Z4 with the 5G Moto Mod add-on. You'll also need to be on a recent unlimited plan. Most of them include 5G at no extra charge, but customers on the Start Unlimited plan will need to pay $10 to access 5G.
This is the third 5G expansion that Verizon has announced this week, with Des Moines and Los Angeles also getting 5G coverage. Verizon has said that it plans to have 5G coverage in more than 30 cities by the end of 2019, so it's possible that we'll see another expansion announced tomorrow. Stay tuned.
