Facebook and Google Photos are two services with a major focus on photos, and starting today you can transfer photos from the former to the latter.
Facebook today announced a new tool that allows you transfer your photos and videos from Facebook to other services, starting with Google Photos. The tool is launching today in Ireland and will be available worldwide in the first half of 2020.
To find the tool, just go into your Facebook settings and find the "Your Facebook Information" section.
Lots of people share photos on Facebook but they probably don't think of it as a "photo storage service", and it could be difficult to go back and find a particular image that you've previously shared. Google Photos is meant to help store and organize your photos, and so this tool will make it easier to keep track of all those fun images that you previously shared with your friends on Facebook.
