Google's Pixel phones aren't the only Android devices getting the December 2019 security update today.

The Essential Phone is now receiving an update to build QQ1A.191205.017, and it includes the 12-2019 Android security patches. The update is rolling out over the air and is 40.3MB in size.

Essential has become known for pushing out software updates the same day that Google sends them to Pixel phones, and that trend continues today. It's impressive and is surely making Essential Phone owners pretty happy. It's also probably helping to keep folks thinking about Essential and its next device, which we haven't heard about or seen since Andy Rubin teased it nearly two months ago.
