The list of 5G smartphones is growing this week.
Motorola has announced that Verizon's Moto Z2 Force is getting support for the 5G Moto Mod starting this week. This makes the Moto Z2 Force the third Motorola phone to support the 5G Moto Mod, joining the Moto Z3 and Moto Z4.
Also being updated is the 5G Moto Mod itself. Motorola says that these improvements will bring better battery life and faster speeds. Moto is updating the power system on the 5G Moto Mod and Moto Z phones to allow one device to charge the other. This means that if your 5G Moto Mod battery is low, your Moto Z phone will charge the 5G Moto Mod, and vice versa.
It's good to see Motorola and Verizon update the Moto Z2 Force, which launched in mid-2017, and give it support for the 5G Moto Mod. While the Moto Z2 Force isn't for sale any longer, this update means that anyone that's currently using the phone can now access Verizon's 5G network, so long as they're in an area with coverage.
The 5G Moto Mod is now available from Verizon for $349.99.
