Earlier this week we got a peek at the ROG Phone 2 and its display, and now the backside of ASUS's next gaming phone has leaked out along with some more spec details.

Photos of the ROG Phone 2 have leaked out thanks to TENAA, a Chinese regulatory agency. The design doesn't look all that different from the original ROG Phone, as it's got "Republic of Gamers" branding and a jagged rear camera housing.

One thing that is different about the ROG Phone 2 is its size. The device is listed as measuring 170.99 x 77.6 x 9.78mm, compared to the original ROG Phone that measured 158.83 x 76.16 x 8.65mm.

That size increase is the result of a much larger screen. According to spec details that've also been spilled by TENAA (via GSMArena), the ROG Phone 2 will have a 6.59-inch display, up from the ROG Phone's 6-inch screen. We also know that that display will support up to a 120Hz refresh rate. 

There doesn't appear to be a rear fingerprint reader on this ROG Phone 2, which suggests that it could use an in-display fingerprint sensor. And finally, TENAA lists the ROG Phone 2 as being powered by a massive 5800mAh battery, which is a big jump from the 4000mAh battery in the first ROG Phone.

So far it looks like the theme of the ROG Phone 2 is "bigger". There's a bigger screen, a higher refresh rate, and a bigger battery, all packed into a much larger phone. The ROG Phone 2 will be all about gaming, though, and so having a bigger screen with a higher refresh rate ought to make playing games on the go better, and a larger battery will help you to keep playing for longer. So based on everything we've seen so far, the ROG Phone 2 could be a pretty compelling option for folks in the market for a gaming-focused smartphone.
