Less than one month after achieving 1Gbps speeds on its mobile 5G network, AT&T has now reached another milestone.
AT&T touts that it hit peak speeds of more than 2Gbps on its mobile 5G network. The achievement was made using AT&T's live, commercial 5G network in Atlanta and a Netgear Nighthawk 5G Mobile Hotspot.
To give you an idea of just how fast 2Gbps it, you could download a two-hour HD movie in just 10 seconds.
Hitting download speeds of 2Gbps on a mobile network is pretty impressive, especially after AT&T had achieved 1Gbps speeds just earlier this month. It helps that AT&T's 5G rollout is still early and there probably aren't many people on it right now, and so it's unlikely most consumers will see 2Gbps on 5G once it becomes widespread. Still, this is a pretty crazy achievement, especially because most folks don't even get 2Gbps speeds on their home internet.
