When the Razer Phone 2 was announced last year, it was revealed that there would be two models: a glossy Mirror Black version and a matte Satin Black versions. Fast-forward several months and the Satin version is finally available.
The Satin Black Razer Phone 2 is now available for purchase from Razer's online store. Pricing is set at $499, just like the Mirror Black version. Razer says that the Satin Black model is a limited edition version that'll only be available in limited quantities, so if you're interested in it, you may want to act fast.
The Razer Phone 2 is sold unlocked, and it's compatible with GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile as well as Verizon's LTE network. Its specs include a 5.7-inch 2560x1440 display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 845 processor, and 8GB of RAM. There's 64GB of built-in storage along with a microSD slot for adding up to 1TB of additional storage, too. Other notable specs include dual 12MP rear cameras, including one wide angle and one telephoto sensor; dual front-facing speakers, a 4000mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support; and a fingerprint reader. Razer has updated the Razer Phone 2 to Android 9.0 Pie.
While this Satin Black model of the Razer Phone 2 is arriving months later than the Mirror Black version, it could be an appealing option for some folks. Not only is it a well-specced device, but its $499 pricing is aggressive for this gaming phone's feature set. Plus, some folks may be more attracted to the Satin Black model thanks to its matte finish, which should be more resistant to fingerprints than the glossy Mirror Black variant.
