Last week we heard reports that the Razer Phone 2 would begin getting its Android Pie update this week, and now the rollout has been confirmed.
The Razer Phone 2 is receiving an update to Android 9.0 Pie starting today, February 27th. The update is rolling out over the air to unlocked Razer Phone 2 models now, and carrier models will follow. AT&T's Razer Phone 2 is expected to begin getting its update in April.
Included with the update to Android 9.0 Pie are gesture navigations, interactive app functionality and search, battery life optimizations, privacy features such as background app controls, and access to digital well-being. Also included is 4K video recording at 60fps.
If you don't already have a Razer Phone 2 but are interested in picking one up now that it's been updated to Android Pie, the timing is good. Razer says that starting March 1st, it'll sell the Razer Phone 2 for $499.99, down from its regular price of $799.99. This deal will also be available at authorized retailers, but it'll only be available for a limited time.
