AT&T's DirecTV Now streaming service is making some major changes.
DirecTV Now is revamping its package offerings, ditching the old plans it had and launching two new ones. The Plus package comes with 40+ channels for $50 per month and the Max package includes 50+ channels, more sports, and a price of $70 per month.
These new packages include channels like ABC, NBC, CBS, and Fox as well as CNBC, Cartoon Network, ESPN, ESPN2, FS1, NBCSN, Oxygen, Syfy, TNT, and USA. Moving up to the Max package adds in channels like FS2, SEC Network, Olympic Channel, and Longhorn Network. However, both packages are missing channels from A+E Networks, AMC Networks, Discovery, and Viacom.
Customers with the previous DirecTV Now packages — Live a Little, Just Right, Go Big, Gotta Have It, and Todo y Mas — can continue using their package. Starting April 12th, though, the prices of those packages will increase by $10 per month, the second price hike in the past year. DirecTV Now also says that starting today, March 13th, HBO will cost $15 per month for those customers (up from $5) and $11 for Cinemax and Starz (up from $5 and $8, respectively).
