Breaking your smartphone is always a bad time, but what makes it worse is then trying to figure out how you're going to get it repaired. There's some good news for Pixel 3 owners on that front today, as they've got a new option for getting their device fixed.
Google's mail-in repair service now accepts the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. This means that you can start a repair order, mail it in to Google, and have them repair it for you. The whole process can take 7-10 business days after you ship.
As of this post, the Google mail-in repair service says that Pixel 3 owners must visit a walk-in store to get their device repaired. This support page confirms that the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL can be repaired using Google's mail-in service, though, and Google tells Android Police that it's in the process of updating its mail-in repair page.
It's kind of surprising that it's taken this long for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL to be supported by Google's mail-in repair service, as the two flagships were released nearly five months ago. Now Pixel 3 owners can mail their phone into Google to get repairs done just like Pixel 2 and Pixel owners, giving them another option for getting their device fixed when it's broken.
Just last month, uBreakiFix began offering same-day repair for Pixel 3 phones in all its stores. Not everyone is able to walk in to a physical uBreakiFix store, though, which is why it's great to see this mail-in repair option available.
