Meizu may not be launching its holeless smartphone, but it is rolling out a new Android phone with an aggressive price and big battery.
The Meizu Note 9 is now official, boasting a dual rear camera setup that includes a 48MP main camera and 5MP secondary lens. That 48MP snapper incldues a Samsung GM1 sensor, 4-in-1 1.6um big pixels, and an f/1.7 aperture, and Meizu has included a Super Night Sight Mode that promises to get you "crystal clear night vision". A portrait mode with bokeh is also available.
Around front there's a 6.2-inch 2244x1080 screen with a notch that's 3.06mm, giving the Meizu Note 9 a screen-to-body ratio of 89.23 percent. Inside that notch is a 20MP camera that offers AI face unlocking and beautify tech like an ArcSoft beauty algorithm and adaptive beauty technology.
Meizu has crammed an octa-core Snapdragon 675 processor inside the Note 9 along with 4 or 6GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB of storage. There's a large 4000mAh battery powering the Note 9, and Meizu has included 18W mCharge fast charging to help you refuel that battery more quickly. The Meizu Note 9 has USB-C and 3.5mm ports, too, along with dual SIM slots, a rear fingerprint reader, and Android Pie running below a custom Flyme 7.2 user interface.
The Meizu Note 9 will launch in China on March 11th at a starting price of 1,398 yuan ($208 USD). That seems like a pretty good price for what you're getting, which includes a 48MP rear camera, 6.2-inch 1080p screen, and 4000mAh battery. The bad news is that there's no word yet on when the Note 9 will be released outside of China, so most of the world will have to wait and see if Meizu has any kind of international release in its plans.
