Two new Android smartphones are launching at Verizon today: one rugged for all your adventures, and one prepaid for folks on a budget.
First up, the Kyocera DuraForce Pro 2 is now available at a price of $18.50 per month for 24 months or $444 full retail. This phone's got a rugged body that meets the MIL-STD 810G standard to withstand shock, extreme temperatures, radiation, and more. It's got an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating, too, and Kyocera touts that the Sapphire Shield display is "virtually scratchproof".
Specs for the DuraForce Pro 2 include a 5-inch 1920x1080 display, a 13MP rear camera with wide angle lens and an Underwater Mode, a 5MP front cameras, and an octa-core Snapdragon 630 processor with 4GB of RAM. There's 64GB of built-in storage along with a microSD slot, too, as well as a 3240mAh battery, dual front speakers, a user programmable Push To Talk button, a fingerprint reader built into the power button, and Android Oreo.
And then there's the Orbic Wonder, a phone made by Reliance Communications. This prepaid device is available for $99.99 and comes with a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 display, 8MP wide angle front-facing camera, 16GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot. There's an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor inside the Orbic Wonder along with 2GB of RAM, a 3000mAh battery, and global connectivity.
