Verizon has long allowed customers to bring their own device onto its network, and today another significant phone has been added to Verizon's BYOD program.
The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact has been certified for use on Verizon's network. That means that you can buy an unlocked unit and bring it onto Verizon without issue.
In the U.S., you can buy the Xperia XZ2 Compact from Best Buy. Pricing is set at $649.99, and customers who buy the Xperia XZ2 Compact will get a free $100 Best Buy e-gift card with their purchase.
As a refresher, the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact features a 5-inch 2160x1080 display, 19MP rear camera with 960fps super slow-mo capture, 4GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 845 processor. It's also packing 64GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 2870mAh battery, and Android Oreo.
We don't often see Sony smartphones officially sold by U.S. carriers, and while that's not changing today, getting BYOD certification from Verizon is still notable. Now VZW customers that may be interested in the Xperia XZ2 Compact can rest easy knowing that it'll be fully supported on Verizon if they decide to pull the trigger on the device.
