Today’s the day that existing Galaxy Note 7 owners should be able to get a safe replacement, but it looks like some consumers can get a brand new Note 7, too.
Sprint and Verizon are now selling the Galaxy Note 7 in their online stores. Both carriers are offering the Blue Coral, Black Onyx, and Silver Titanium models, and they’re available to ship to buyers. Also of note is that Verizon specifically says that the Note 7 that it’s selling is the safe, CPSC-approved version.
As of this writing, neither AT&T nor T-Mobile have the Galaxy Note 7 available in their online stores.
Samsung hasn’t announced any kind of relaunch date for the Galaxy Note 7, so it’s interesting to see Sprint and Verizon offering the Note 7 to new buyers. Samsung did say that more than 500,000 safe Note 7 units have been shipped to the US for replacements, so it’s possible that Sprint and Verizon have decided to sell some of these units to new buyers.
Whatever’s going on, if you’ve been waiting to buy a safe Note 7 and you’re a Sprint or Verizon customer, it looks like you can do so right now.
